What is the National Forum for Equity and Development (NFD)?

NFD is a people-centered movement committed to advancing equity, justice, and sustainable development in Kenya. It seeks to rebuild public trust, empower citizens, and make governance more accountable to all.

NFD is not a traditional political party — it is a civic-driven movement. Our goal is to nurture participatory democracy, influence public policy, and promote citizen-led governance.

NFD emerged from Kenya’s ongoing struggle with inequality, corruption, and exclusion. It is rooted in the belief that citizens must reclaim their power to shape public policy and development priorities.
NFD is grounded in Civic Republicanism, which values freedom from domination and active citizenship. We believe that democracy thrives when citizens are informed, engaged, and empowered.
Unlike top-down programs, NFD promotes bottom-up transformation led by citizens themselves. We focus on long-term structural change rather than short-term aid or political promises.
